12 Planning Tips for Brides and Grooms to Be

When I was planning my wedding, I took the following seriously and into consideration. I am glad I did.

You Need to Start Early

I began my wedding planning process as early as possible. I did not waste time. This singular act helped me to secure my preferred vendors and venues. It gave me adequate time to make reasonable decision without rushing.

Think about Setting a Budget

I did this. You should try and have a realistic budget that goes with your financial resources as well as priorities. It is prudent to consider all aspects of the wedding. This starts with the venue, wedding dress, wedding rings and decorations. The advantage is that this can help with allocating the available funds wisely.

Couple to Be Should Prioritize Together

This is where both of you should have a discussion relating to what you would like to prioritise. Try and decide jointly what things are most important to both of you. For example, food, entertainment and venue. The budget should therefore be accordingly allocated.

Come up with a Timeline.

This is very important. Create a very detailed timeline that shows the graphic details of key milestones and deadlines for what should be done before the wedding day. Areas to be considered are sending out invitations and catering. Everything should be done in wisely to meet deadlines and to avoid unnecessary rush.

Carry out Some Research

Before my wedding, I took time to carry out some research. Affordable fashion tips can be researched. I met with people such as the photographers and caterers. I made sure that I read some reviews about them and how they have handled past events. I scheduled meetings to make sure that they are the best fit for my wedding.

You Should Be Flexible

You should be open to unplanned changes. Though you have planned how the wedding should go, it is also important to note that sometimes things might not go as planned. You should be ready for compromise in some areas. Some changes might not be negative but may involve opportunities that may come your way.

Delegation of Tasks is Crucial

You should avoid doing everything by yourself. This is where your family members can help. Your friends, colleagues can also be involved. Some of them may know some DIY and have some experience relating to logistics. This will take some stress off you.

Effectively Communication is Key

There should be unambiguous communication with your partner and families. This also applies to vendors. Clear communication is key to a successful wedding. You need to keep everyone informed of decisions and any changes. This is to make sure that everyone involved is updated accordingly.

Do not Break Down, Take Breaks

What you need to be aware of is that wedding planning can be overwhelming. This is the more reason why you need to take breaks. Ensure that you take care of yourself. Quality time should be set aside for adequate rest.

Put Finishing Touches to Details Early

There is a huge advantage in aiming to finalize all important decisions and other details early before the wedding day. For example, seating arrangements and vendor contracts. Any other logistical elements should also be finalised. This will help you to alleviate avoidable stress as your wedding day approaches.

Unexpected Things May Happen

Even though you have taken the time to plan, it is still possible that there may be unexpected challenges. My advice is that you should not be worried; you need to be calm. The challenges one way or the other will be subdued.

Ensure that You Enjoy the Process

Finally, do not forget to enjoy the journey of planning your wedding with your partner. This is a time to be cherished, celebrate every moment, and visualise an enjoyable and happy wedding day.
